Afyon Enerji ve Gübre Üretim Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş was founded in 2011 with partnership of Opal Enerji ve Gübre A.Ş that was founded to realize biogas investments and Afyon Güçbirliği Ltd. Şti that was founded to carry out studies related to disposing of wastes coming from poultry farms of some egg producers having activities in Afyonkarahisar province.

The plant named Afyon Biogas Power Plant, by using as a fuel the wastes of about one fourth of egg-poultry capacity existing in Afyonkarahisar province and as well as the biogas resulting from fermentation of poppy capsule pulps that are the wastes of T.M.O (THE TURKEY SUPPLY OFFICE) Afyon Alkaloids Plant and cattle feces in an aerobic environment, realizes the electric and heat generation in the cogeneration units.

The other very important output of the plant that was put into operation by using the German technology during its establishment is the organic and liquid fertilizers obtained as a result of fermentation of the said animal and vegetable wastes in an aerobic environment.

The fertilizer selling and marketing activities have been realized at the plant in Afyonkarahisar that is the production place.
